District Five - TSM&O
The Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT), District Five Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) program works to create a safe transportation system for everyone. This program helps people and goods move efficiently, boosts the economy, and protects the environment and local communities. TSM&O is a program based on actively managing the multimodal transportation network, measuring performance, streamlining and improving the existing system, promoting effective cooperation/collaboration, and delivering positive safety and mobility outcomes to the travelling public.
FDOT promotes the TSM&O program by investing in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Examples of this includes funding research and exploratory studies, installation of smart technology, and infrastructure projects. A key goal for FDOT's District Five TSM&O program is workforce development and roadway safety.
